Kelvin Falk

Kelvin Falk

Sport: basketball

The performance: Honokaa’s boys basketball was on the wrong side of this honor last week, allowing Hilo’s Isaac Liu to score 40 points, but Kelvin Falk and the Dragons’ defense were quick to shake it off.

Honokaa’s motto is Get It Done – and that’s exactly what Falk did in engineering the first BIIF upset of 2016.

The junior guard scored 11 points in the third quarter as the Dragons erased a large halftime deficit, and Falk ended up with 15 in all as Honokaa surprised the Kamehameha Warriors on their home court, 58-55.

While Falk was unstoppable at times on the offensive end, he and the defense made amends, holding Kamehameha to 21 percent shooting in the second half.
